Dr. Daniels original recipe
The first time I had a Dr. Daniels was on a island in the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia in 1979. Diego Garcia is a british owned island with a US Naval base on one side of it. The Package store had run out of Coke but had plenty of Dr. Pepper so of course those of us who enjoy Jack Daniels had to do a little mixing. The original recipe was a glass half full of ice and then mix equal parts Jack Daniels and Dr. Pepper. This drink was the cause of many lost nights. It is so smooth it goes down easy and kicks you when you stand up.
