Cheers to St. Patrick

By Russ Cobbe

There is no bigger day for pubs and bars than March 17th, St. Patrick's Day, which celebrates everything Irish. So why is drinking associated with St. Patrick? It is rumored that St. Patrick brought the art of distilling to Ireland from Scotland and that seems like a pretty good reason to me. Having an interest in Cocktails you'd not be surprised to learn that I am half Irish.

Irish Whiskey and Irish Crème are two obvious ingredients in any list of cocktail recipes associated with St. Patrick's Day. Chartreuse and Crème de Menthe both have green coloured varieties so are also popular in making drinks representative of Ireland.
